Feelin’ Groovy

This Mid-Century modern chair was brought back to life!  Found neglected in a local thrift store, just waiting for a refresh.  I began by designing the fabric with simple Mid-Century shapes and color palette.  The base was in rough shape, lots of elbow grease was needed to bring it back to life.  The fiberglass seat was painted in turquoise to match the custom fabric.  Finally, the seat was reupholstered and it was ready for a new home.  This chair swivels and would add lots of life and color to your home or office.

I’m thrilled to be participating in my third Chair-ity event! As an Interior Design Instructor and Department Chair at Fox Valley Technical College, I get to teach about color, pattern and design on a daily basis. This is my chance to use my creativity to help others through Celebration of Hope. In addition to interior design and teaching, I am also a surface pattern designer. One of my designs can be found covering the seat on my chair for this year’s Chair-ity event. My husband and I have 6 children, one daughter-in-law, one adorable grand daughter, a dog and a cat. We love traveling to warmer climates and tackling home remodel projects together.
